Ad Pros Advertising developed a multi-media campaign that, using humor with a screaming woman in curlers, addressed the lack of storage space among local residents; What.....No Basement? The solution was provided in display ads, billboards and radio spots for Oxford Self Storage. Media placement was very specific to make the maximum impact on residents of The Villages, a nearby active adult community. We selected the Villages Daily Sun newspaper, radio stations WVLG and WMFQ, billboards on US 301 and shopping cart ads in local Winn Dixie and Albertson's supermarkets.
The result of this campaign was an increase in the occupancy rate from 60% to 98% within only 6 months. In 2007, Oxford Self Storage still enjoys regular occupancy rates in the 92-95% range while continuing their ongoing advertising efforts to keep it that way.
The campaign brought an additional, yet unexpected welcome benefit. The regional office of Budget Truck Rental was so impressed with the advertising campaign that they moved their local rental contract from the existing vendor to Oxford Self Storage. This contract provides additional revenues of over $50,000 per year through truck rentals.
